Our Trip to the Zoo

We visited the Claws and Paws zoo on Friday. Alexis fed a parrot, giraffe, sheep, goat, and a deer. Here are pictures from our trip. The lion, tiger, monkey, and sea otter were her favorites. Here is a video of Alexis petting the turtles.

Alexis Turns 6!

Alexis was 6 years old on July 3rd!

She celebrated her first birthday with a family. Her birthday party was on Saturday, June 30th, with her family.  She was showered with lots of presents and love.

And here are pictures of her from a year ago at her SWI with the cake that I sent to her while we waited...  I think she is much happier now.

Alexis is a US Citizen!!

Alexis received her Certificate of Citizenship in the mail.  She was officially a US citizen the day we landed in the US.  We flew from Hong Kong to JFK in New York City on May 19, 2012.  May 19th is her citizenship date.

Alexis' First Day of Summer School

Alexis will start Kindergarden in August.  She has been attending Ready, Set, Go, a pre-K summer school program to get her up to speed.  She has been doing great.  Her teacher said that she catches on quickly.  She will also attend ESL; she has been picking up English very rapidly.

Alexis Plays Dress Up

Alexis loves Disney princesses and Tinker Bell.  Cinderella is her favorite princess.  She likes to wave her wand and say "bippiddi boppiddi boo."

Alexis after her First Haircut and Ear Piercing

Well, it wasn't her first haircut. However, it was her first hair cut at home.   After her hair cut, she had her ears pierced.  All she said was "WOW" as the girls pierced her ears.  She was so happy after her "make over." She wanted to have pierced ears just like mommy.

Alexis' First Pair of Glasses

Alexis got her first pair of glasses. She is slightly nearsighted.   She doesn't keep them on for long, but she is doing better at wearing them.

Alexis loves dogs and cats.  Thank god since we have three dogs and two cats.   She really loves cats, but the cats have been avoiding her.

Alexis enjoys the beach and lake at Tobyhanna State Park.  She wanted to be covered with sand and look like a mermaid.  She loves mermaids and Ariel.

Alexis Finds a Ladybug

Ladybugs are considered to be lucky in China.  We found a ladybug on the side of her swimming pool.  We are indeed lucky.

Alexis' Favorite Food is...

ICE CREAM!!! 

I treated her to Dairy Queen after she had blood work.  She hates getting blood work and cried as soon as she realized where we were going. She deserved some ice cream after that especially since they had to switch arms!
